Bubble Ponytail

The bubble ponytail is the styling where a regular ponytail is sectioned with small clear elastics every 8 cm, then puffed between each elastic to create a series of round 'bubbles' down the ponytail. The look originated in the late 2010s as a styling experiment and went viral around 2018; it has stayed as a festive/playful default since.

It flatters oval and heart faces — the bubble pattern adds visual interest at the back without affecting the face-frame. Straight, wavy, and curly hair all work; the bubbling is most visible on smoother textures because the bubble shapes show more clearly. Hair needs to be at least mid-back length for the bubbles to read as a series rather than just one.

Gather into a high ponytail, place small clear elastics every 8 cm down the length, gently puff the hair between each elastic outward to create the bubble shape. Takes 5-8 minutes.
