Type 4 (coily) hair is the home for real locs; faux locs install on any natural texture but read best on Type 3-4 hair. The faux version takes 6-12 hours to install depending on the size and length.

Low daily maintenance for installed styles — sleep with a satin bonnet, oil scalp weekly, refresh edges. Faux locs last 6-8 weeks; real long locs require ongoing retwisting every 4-6 weeks.
